So, you thought I’d
disappeared did you?
No Such Luck!
After starting and running Eastwood HiFi since 1981 (they’re still
running incidentally, probably better than when I was involved) -
www.eastwoodhifi.com.au - I finally retired as I’ll be 70 next year and
figure I’ve paid my dues. Having formal qualifications in Metallurgy,
Electronics and Photography plus having played in bands (quite badly
as it happens) back in the ‘60’s and 70’s, I figure I may have something
to offer in terms of helping sort the wheat from the chaff when it
comes to music reproduction. Since I have now taken leave of the
business, I can comment on any brand without fear or favour (and I
will).
What’s this site all about?
Over the last 40 or so years I’ve been selling
and reviewing HiFi and Home Theatre, so I
thought I might share some of my
experiences with those of you who can be
bothered reading this - it may or may not
help in the decision making process of what
or what not to buy when upgrading your next
bit of kit.
You’ll need a sense of humour to appreciate
this site so if you lack that, bugger off now!
This site is still in Beta so expect a bit of
random and unfinished stuff for a while!
or how I stopped listening to Equipment and started to listen to Music.
Last Update 18th April 2019
One of the main reasons for getting this site started is to help music fans get
the most out of their equipment. I’m not familiar with every single model of
electronics / speakers but after 40 years in the business, I can probably take
a decent stab at getting the best results from what you have or suggesting a
significant upgrade (given your budgetary constraints)
Just send me an e-mail at -

and I’ll see if I can help. I’m away a fair bit this year so you may not get an
answer straight away but I’ll get to you when I can.
Steve.
